PW took it's 2-2 season record into Harrisburg last Saturday to play the 3-1 Blue Rams. It was our last match and league game of the season. We lost a couple of key players to injury and travel commitments, so we are were concerned about the turnout. The forecast was sunny and bright for the boys from PWRFC. Unfortunately, the weather was a little iffy at Hooters in King of Prussia around 10:30 when the carpool was set to leave for the match. Turns out we were a bit light.

We showed up, gathered our boys and picked up a few extras who were not playing in the match. Unlike the other four matches the Harrisburg crew was a little testy about the point spread requirements for playoffs. Though we suited and laced up with 15, we played with 11. The strategy was simply keep control of the ball and make your tackles.

If you had seen the contest you would be as proud as I am in the effort and commitment of the men on the field. We played hard we played 80 minutes. We had a few breaks and lots of chances but no tries in the first half. Harrisburg played well moving the ball to space at times and prevailed in the contest.

PW finishes the season at 2 and 3. It was mostly a defensive struggle. Pete Lockard came out of his shell a bit this Saturday making tackle after tackle. We believe he's starting to bleed blue as well as red now. Kyle Uysaler played inside and outside center and made many many tackles. Bob Haller played a blinder at #8 making breaks and saving tackles and was named Man of the Match. We had 32 players take the field in five games and we're proud of every man. We had even more at practice that have yet to play their first game. We're back. And we will build on this.
