With great defensive effort, PW halts Doylestown

PW vs Doylestown

On a perfect fall afternoon, PW prevailed against Doylestown by a score of 38-26, notching another great, hard-fought win against a tough team.

PW went up early 19-0 on 2 intercept tries by Cesare Coscia and Eric Miller and a nice combination to Andrew Stinson on the wing.

Doylestown came firing back - PW held them off for a while but they eventually scored making it 19-7. PW fought back with a series of tries. Doylestown notched a few at the end but could not capture PW.

“Each week we are seeing our phase play and ball retention improve," said Inside Center Steve Frey. “PW is playing good rugby right now and with our defense coming together we are looking forward to closing out the fall season with strong wins. Saturday's win was big for PW because it puts us in control for the post-season.

“The defense had its hands full with the "spread the field" offense Doylestown was running. PW wings kept them from breaking the edge and the pack did a great job at covering all the rucks."

The boys take a weekend off before playiong Media at home for Family Day weekend Nov. 8.
